How the Publishing Director works
Publishing explanations come from the 17 written lessons in Self-Publishing Foundations, so what you're told here and what the course teaches never contradict each other.
Anything specific to your book comes only from your Book Publishing Profile — the Publishing Starting Point answers, Foundations progress and confirmed decisions saved in this browser — or from something you state and confirm here. Your profile only changes when you say something explicit and it checks out.
Your recommended next step is worked out by Self Publish Me's publishing framework rather than by the conversation, and it always shows its reasoning. The Director will also say when a question is better handled in a free publishing consultation — that's a good outcome, not a failure. If the conversation is unavailable, that guidance still works.
Privacy & what it cannot do
Your Publishing Starting Point answers, course progress and this conversation's memory are kept in this browser. Questions you type or dictate are sent to an AI service so it can write a reply; the text of your messages is never sent to our analytics, and voice input is turned into text by your own browser — no audio is sent anywhere.
- It never writes, rewrites or ghostwrites any part of your manuscript.
- It doesn't generate chapters, blurbs or creative content for you.
- It doesn't judge or critique the quality of your writing.
- It won't promise sales, rankings or bestseller outcomes.
- It only personalises advice from what you have recorded on this site, or explicitly confirm here.
- It never reads or asks for manuscript content.
It also can't take actions on your behalf: it never sends email or messages, books anything, buys an ISBN, changes your KDP settings, uploads files or submits forms for you. Important publishing decisions should still be considered carefully, and you can request a free consultation whenever you want human guidance.
