Information you enter into our publishing tools

Our free tools — the Publishing Starting Point, Self-Publishing Foundations, the Publishing Action Plan and the Publishing Director — save your answers and progress in your own web browser's local storage on the device you are using. That information stays on your device so you can return to it later. Clearing your browser storage removes it.

The Publishing Director conversation

When you send a message to the Publishing Director, your message and a structured summary of the publishing details you have recorded are sent to our server and on to an AI model provider so a reply can be generated. Please do not paste manuscript text, confidential material or sensitive personal information into the conversation. The Publishing Director discusses publishing decisions only; it does not write or rewrite your book.

Publishing enquiries

When you choose to tell us about your book, you are taken to our publishing intake form. The details you submit there — such as your name, contact details and information about your manuscript — are used to assess your project, prepare your publishing plan and communicate with you about it. We do not sell your information.

Website measurement

We record basic, non-identifying interaction events — for example that a resource card was opened — so we can improve the site. These events describe actions on pages, not manuscript content.

Your choices

You can use most of this website without giving us any personal information. You can clear the answers our tools have saved by clearing your browser storage for this site. If you have contacted us about your book and want to know what we hold, or want it removed, contact us and we will help.
